The Battle

The battle of the phone accessories are here! Pop Sockets have long held popularity when it comes to attachable mobile accessories. But just like every product, there are good reviews and bad. To look into this battle more closely, it’s important to know a little more about how Pop Sockets became so popular. To do this, we need to go back to 2012 when Pop Sockets came on the phone accessory scene. They were easy to apply to your phone and gave you the ability to hold your phone in a whole new way.

However, a lot of people who have experience with Pop Sockets know that it’s not always easy to hold one. When you typically hold your phone, your palm rests evenly on the back side. When you add a Pop Socket to the mix, it requires you to move your fingers around a rather bulky object that protrudes from the back of your device making the once comfortable form of your hand on the back of the phone feel a bit awkward and uneven.

The Contender

Fast forward a few years and companies began to take note of the reviews. This is where Case Rings came in to the picture. Also known as a phone case ring holder, a Case Ring still sits on the back of your phone just like a Pop Socket only instead of you having to wrap your fingers around a Pop Socket, you can slide your finger through the Case Ring and your hand can again rest evenly on the back side of your phone giving you a new way to hold on to your phone so that it doesn’t accidentally slip or fall out of your hand.

This isn’t to say that Pop Sockets can’t be handy but saying that there is room for improvement doesn’t hurt.

So what do you think? Do you prefer Pop Sockets or Case Rings? What works for you and why? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
